ThornSound Recordings is proud to announce a new album from Kim Virant: Orion’s Belt. This is Kim’s first full length release in over 10 years, and it is live on 8/14/2026 on CD and all streaming platforms.
The album’s release is preceded by the singles “River Rise” and a haunting cover of “Loving Cup“. Both tracks have recieved regional airplay and grown Kim’s presence across digital music platforms.
The single Questions is the third, heralding the full album’s release. Orion’s Belt showcases stories of loss, fury and resilience, all straight from the heart by one of the Northwest’s original rock/americana singer-songwriters.
Questions speaks to the loss of Kim’s mother and father, mourning not only the passing, but the missed connections both before and after their deaths. Looking back over the years, this is how she says goodbye.
